RELATIONSHIP

I learned that you never finish knowing people..

I learned that you never finish knowing people..

I learned that you never finish knowing people.. because we all carry parts we don't show, the stories we tell not

and silences that speak more than they appear.
At the beginning we think we know everything,
we trust, we ideal,
we feel like we already understand who is in front of us.
But time...
time always reveals something else.
Sometimes they are surprised,
in a beautiful, unexpected way,
showing a version we hadn't seen,
a loyalty , a care ,
a way of being that coats.
And other times...
they're disappointed.
Not because they change from day to day,
but because we begin to see what we didn't want to notice before.
Details we overlook,
attitudes that we justify,
verdades que evitábamos aceptar.
And it hurts...
because not only the image we had of them breaks,
it also breaks the way we felt them.
Then we understand
to meet someone
is not a moment,
it's a constant process.
That people evolve,
are transforming,
and sometimes they take roads
that no longer coincide with ours.
And though that leaves a sense of nostalgia,
also teaches.
Teach me not to idealize so much,
to look more closely,
to accept that not everything is permanent.
Because there are those who come to stay,
and there are those who come to show you something...
and then leave.
Learning that doesn't make you cold,
makes you more aware.
Be more careful of what you deliver,
Be more attentive to what you receive,
stronger when things don't turn out the way you expected.
And though surprises and disappointments are part of the way,
do you still believe...
but no longer from naivety,
but from experience.
I liked it a lot ©️ D.R.
