If I had to describe who I am

If I had to describe who I am

"If I had to describe who I am, I wouldn't speak out loud.

I'm a handful of truths without a coat,
mixed up with words
that stick to my throat.
I am what you see.
The rest,
what others say,
it has no root to grow.
I don't walk with crowds.
I prefer few hands
that they don't let me go when I'm shaking.
Sometimes I look cold.
I'm not.
I just learned to close doors
so that everything that breaks doesn't enter.
There's struggles in me
who left silent
nailed to the shoulders.
There are wounds
that no one named
and yet they are still open
when the house smells of absence.
And yet, here I am.
Not intact.
Not perfect.
But standing.
And that,
Though they do not understand it,
it's also a way of winning.
