You stay wrapped up in your pajamas while I jump in the truck and drive to the nearest gas station to grab your favorite breakfast pizza.
When I get back, I’ll lean over, kiss your forehead, and softly tell you good morning as I hand you your favorite cartoon on DVD and that old worn out Bible with pages folded from years of prayers and promises.
I walk over to the window and crack it open just enough to let the cool rain soaked air drift in, while the sound of rain drops tap against the tin roof of the old barn outside like its own kind of worship song.
We spend the rest of the day together eating snacks, laughing about childhood memories, and watching the cartoons that once made life feel simple.
Between episodes, we’ll read scripture, talk about God, and pray over the kind of future we’ve wished for ever since we were children.
