Sometimes you need to walk away...

Sometimes you need to walk away...

not for lack of love,
but because of excess fatigue.
There are people that we love,
but that, without realizing it,
they drain us, they hurt us,
they make us forget who we were
before trying to hold it all.
And then you take the distance...
one day,
one week,
one month...
or maybe forever.
At the beginning it feels heavy ,
because it's not easy to lose presence
which were important,
nor get used to silence
where there used to be custom.
But in that space...
You start listening to yourself.
Realizing how much you needed that break,
how much had you neglected
for staying where you weren't you anymore.
Walking away doesn't always end in anger,
sometimes it's a quiet farewell,
with a little sadness,
but also with dignity.
Accepting that not everyone is destined
to stay in your life,
even if it ever seemed so.
And yes...
there are absences that hurt,
that leave gaps difficult to fill,
that come back in the form of memories
when you least expect it.
But there is also peace
in choosing you,
to prioritize yourself,
in understanding that your well being
worth more than any bond that breaks you.
Sometimes to walk away
it's the only way to get back to you,
to heal what in company hurt,
to rebuild you without noise.
And though melancholy appears,
even though you miss me...
you learn that not everything you love
it stays.
Because there are loves
they only came to teach you
which is also valid to say goodbye......
and moving on,
even though it hurts.
