Ultimately, I believe this picture below encapsulates one of the things we as women are unqiuely designed to help men do—open their hearts.
Now let me clarify, ideally, our primary tool in this devotion isn't a pick axe.
That can be quite jarring and disruptive to a man’s nervous system, and can actually cause him to shut down more, thus slowing down the process of opening, and likely elongating it...
…where as if we as women have the capacity and mastery to take a subtler and more gentle approach, his opening could happen more easefully and pleasurably.
I often correlate the open of a man’s heart with the opening of a woman’s legs.
I find it’s a great metaphor to use so men and women can understand and empathize with each other better in this great dance of alchemical intimacy and healing of the wounds that exist between us.
Meaning, for a man to rush a woman’s opening sexually to receive him inside of her, even if his enthusiasm is “innocent” in nature—
--the rush or lack of attunement to her body can trigger old wounds and traumas that have her system shut down, making it more difficult to open, and perhaps having it take even longer for her to open than if the man had moved slower with his desire for penetration.
The same is true for a woman with a man’s heart.
We as women seem to have a clear collective desire to *feel* the hearts of our men more. We want to feel their feelings and their deeper vulnerability.
And, it’s important for us to acknowledge that men have wounding around this.
It hasn’t been safe or socially acceptable for men’s hearts to be open. For men, an open tender heart has often been equated with a lack of manliness, which can threaten his safety and his level of perceived desirability.
We are learning, as women, how to support men in the opening of their hearts, while learning how to hold our own wounds from past experiences that get triggered in the process.
We, men and women, are learning how to open, heal, and grow with each other. One moment, one conversation, one connection at a time.
May we all remember who we truly are. ♥️
