“Don't forget a person's greatest emotional need is to feel appreciated." -H.Jackson Brown

Appreciation is what makes us feel loved and is what makes us want to reciprocate love.

♥️💋🌹💋♥️ Some people will use it as a way of controlling and manipulating a person by withholding that appreciation to make their partner work harder to earn it, so that when they finally feel acknowledged they can feel relieved and less anxious. The act of showing a little appreciation, then, becomes the extent of their effort in the relationship, making their partner do most of the work while they sit back, judging and criticizing them for small mistakes and withholding approval most of the time. (This type of manipulation is also used by many parents) This is not love, it's a type of control that creates dependency because now you are not able to feel lovable or good about yourself without their approval and acknowledgement. You end up believing that you are the one that needs to try harder and pour more love into them. ***This is the wrong person for you and they will NEVER appreciate your love because it's to their advantage not to.
After you read this, close your eyes and imagine being with someone that is grateful just to have you in their life, someone who thinks of you and your needs when they wake up and are thankful for you when they go to sleep at night. Someone that sends you text messages during the day just to let you know that they are thinking about you. Someone that gets a silly grin on their face when they're being playful with you. Imagine looking up at someone and they're already looking at you like you're the best thing and greatest blessing that's ever happened to them. Imagine how much love you could give to someone that truly appreciates you.
